New cap for calculating employer social security contributions on high salaries
Since 1 July 2025, basic employer social security contributions are capped for employees whose quarterly remuneration exceeds EUR 85,000. The portion of remuneration above this cap is no longer subject to employer social security contributions.

Excluding indexation and scale increases, the margin for salary cost increases is set at 0% for the period 2025-2026.

From 2026, certain employers in Flanders will be subject to an "appropriate duty of care"
From January 1st, 2026, contractors, intermediary contractors and professional principals active in certain sectors will have to comply with a duty of care towards their subcontractors.The aim is to combat the illegal employment of foreign workers and strengthen "chain" liability.
